Maggie & Casey – NEW ORLEANS!
Who: The super amazing, super laid-back, super awesome Maggie & Casey!
What: Their aaaaaaaaaawesome wedding in NEW ORLEANS!!!
Where: We went all over! French quarter, the above-ground cemeteries, Audubon Park… They got ready and stayed at the Hotel Monteleone. The ceremony & reception took place at the beautiful Elms Mansion.
I am SO EXCITED to bring you this wedding! Getting out of the midwest to capture a wedding in an all-new location (and such an amazing one as NEW ORLEANS!! sorry I can’t seem to help but capitalize it…) was such an awesome experience. I am truly grateful to Maggie & Casey for the opportunity. Adrian and I had the most unbelievable time. OH! And something you MUST know whilst perusing the photos…Maggie’s super talented sister made ALL THE DRESSES (including the hot-cha-cha bridal gown)! Can you believe that?!? By hand!! She is my new idol!
“YAAAA Jenny!!! Thank you soo much! We have gone over the pics a million times- loving them!! You did a great job and were so fast getting them back to us!!! New Orleans was a whirl-wind and we are so glad to have these pics to slow down and relive the moment. I think Casey said it best as we left, you guys were a great fit for us! It was a wonderful day:)
thanks again,
Maggie”

Maggie & Casey met for the first time at the Carousel Bar at the Hotel Monteleone. The carousel itself actually rotates while you’re sitting at the bar!! I love New Orleans!!

Random serenading. Another reason why I love New Orleans.

Isn’t she freakin’ amazing?! Like the most gorgeous bride in the world amazing??

Favorite. Hands down.

The cemeteries blew my mind. What an amazing and unique place.

In Audubon Park.

Reason number 3542 why Casey rocks: I’ve never seen a groom more excited about a parasol in my life.

Maggie’s parents friggin’ rocked, OK?? They cracked us up all night! I want to adopt her dad.

This is a wedding tradition called the “ribbon pull”, very common in New Orleans.
“A wedding event called a ‘ribbon pull’ is traditional to Victorian weddings. A sterling silver charm is purchased for each of the bridesmaids and engraved with a wish for the future such as; next to marry, lucky in life, hope, adventure etc… Each charm is tied to a ribbon or a silver necklace chain. The baker places the charms between layers of the wedding cake as it is being assembled….The bridesmaids gather so that each can pull one ribbon, claiming a ‘ribbon pull’ that holds the promise of her future.” [source]

Even the music that night was traditional New Orleans, performed by Kermit Ruffins & his band. They rocked it for sure!

The reception dress! Party time!

Didn’t I tell you Maggie’s dad rocks?!

The Second Line, another New Orleans wedding tradition that involves the bride & groom, parasols held high, leading the napkin-waving guests in a celebratory line either through the streets of NOLA, or, in this case, through the Elms Mansion. SUCH a cool tradition that I wish would catch on here!

*siiiiiiiiiigh* Seriously, WHAT an amazing time. And Adrian and I would loooooove to come out again to shoot more and more weddings in New Orleans! We absolutely loved it there. THANKS AGAIN to Maggie, Casey & your family & friends for such an incredible experience.

Our pleasure, TRUST me!!! You & Casey are the best
Amazing!!! Love these images. Especially, all the details!
Wow. Amazing wedding!!! Love the shot of the bride with her bridesmaids, all of them laughing. And I love your wide angle shots too!
I think I have to say my favorite of all the pictures is the one of Maggie’s dad dancing away. Fanastico. His green outfit is just plain awesome.
Oh my goodness, they turned out so beautiful and you guys were so quick to get them back! My fav is the one of them in front of the green door, because it was so unexpected. I didn’t know you guys stole away for that one and even though it doesn’t have all the craziness of NOLA it is just them and so beautiful. In the jump shot I accidentally kicked poor Liz, oops sorry Liz! My other fav is the one of her dad dancing down the aisle afterwards, perfectly captured the excitement of the moment!
